As good as it gets

Hey guys! Today I'm going to make a review about "As good as it gets", a film that won 2 Oscars (Best Actress for Helen Hunt and Best Actor for Jack Nicholson) and that received very good critics. It also received a Golden Globe award for Best Picture-Music or Comedy.

Melvin Udall (Jack Nicholson) is an obsessive-compulsive novelist that has the amazing quality of being able to make people hate him almost instantly. He throws his neighbour's dog in the trash tub, he is mean to him because of his homosexuality...until he meets someone that might be the only one that can help him.
I love the cast of this film. Jack Nicholson is so natural that you actually believe that you can't imagine him as another person, but my favourite is Helen Hunt. I have always loved this actress but I really think that, in this movie, she's superb. Greg Kinnear, who plays the role of Melvin's gay neighbour, is also amazing.

                                    Warning:

from now on until *, there might be some SPOILERS

When I was preparing for doing this review, I checked some of the opinions people had posted on FilmandFinnity and, although most of them said it was a fantastic film, some said the trip the three of them do makes no sense, and I don't agree. The reason for that trip is well explained (Simmon needs to get money from his parents) and it helps to develop the relationship between Carol and Melvin. Another thing I love about this movie is the fact that, actually, Melvin is the only one that does something for Simmon after the break in, even though his illness : Simmon's friends only ask favors to Melvin because they're too busy, or so they say.

                                                                       *
In conclusion, I love this movie and it's going to be on my top list forever.
